Jane Frances Barringer Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jane Frances Barringer (Sanford, North Carolina), who passed away on July 6, 2025, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Alma Hayman and Lindsey Swindell of Elizabeth City; and her husband Paul Jehu Barringer Jr. of Sanford. She is survived by: her sister Elizabeth Swindell Brannon (Robert) of Waynesville, NC.; her children, Sallie Barringer (Brad Scharlott), Mary Womble Barringer Gerdes (Philipp) and Paul Jehu Barringer III (Marcea Hosay); her grandchildren, Will Scharlott, Leah Scharlott, Paul Jehu Barringer IV, Hope Barringer, Clara Gerdes Bartz (Christopher), Martha Gerdes and Mary Gerdes of Georgia; her great grandchildren, Matthias and Cecilia Bartz; and her nieces, Lynn and Leigh Brannon.

A graveside service was held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Moncure Methodist Cemetery (6071 Lower Moncure Rd, Sanford, NC 27330).
