She was predeceased by: her parents, Rev. James B. Garrett Sr. and Lucy Elizabeth Bennett Garrett; and her brother James B. Garrett Jr.. She is survived by: her daughters, Torri Smallwood (Charles) of Oak Hill and Katelyn James (Patrick Kelly) of Sanford, NC.; her brothers, David Garrett (Ali Watts) of Winston Salem, NC and Bob Garrett (Bobbi) of Broadway, NC.; her grandchildren, Markus DeLung (Berkley), Brooke Treadway (Joey), Jackson Stalnaker, Kaleb Stalnaker and Asher Kelly; and her great grandchildren, Malachi Treadway, Braxton Treadway, Zoey Treadway and Noah DeLung.

To honor Kathy's memory, memorial gifts can be made to the American Cancer Society, the Humane Society, local food banks or to Mt. Pisgah Presbyterian Church.
