He was predeceased by: his father Charles "CharliePop" Godwin; and his stepmother Jean Godwin. He is survived by: his mother Jane Hunter Brewer (Bobby) of Sanford, NC.; his wife Kelli Gillis Godwin; his daughter Heaven Leigh Godwin; his brother Kevin Godwin (Cris) of Sanford, NC; his nephew Hunter Godwin; and his in-laws, James and Virginia Gillis.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial gifts made to Salem Presbyterian Church, c/o Debbye Sloan, 8304 Hillcrest Farm Road, Sanford, NC 27330.
