He was predeceased by : his parents, Joe Washington Scott and Mary Elizabeth Haigler Scott. He is survived by : his wife Linda Stewart Scott; his daughter Michelle Connell; his son-in-law Jamie Connell; and his grandchildren, Noah and Mary Ashlyn of Raleigh, NC..
