With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Robert Lewis Tilley Sr. of Sanford, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 1, 2025 at the age of 93. He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Tilley and Bessie Tilley; and his son Robert Jr. (Lori). He is survived by: his wife Yvonne Spires Tilley; his children, Charles (Gwen), Sarah (Mike) and Mark (Lynn); his grandchildren, Hannah Tilley, Rachael Tilley, Emma Tilley, Virginia Tilley, Mae Tilley, Michael Till, Joy Till, Luke Till and Olivia Tilley; his brother Jerry; his nephew Neil; and his caregivers, Penny, Linda, Melissa, Visiting Angels and Liberty Commons.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, June 4th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Jonesboro Heights Baptist Church (316 Main St, Sanford, NC 27332). A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, June 4th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, June 4th 2025 at the Lafayette Memorial Park (2301 Ramsey St, Fayetteville, NC 28301).
