He was predeceased by: his parent Maylon Ryals; his stepfather Alex Maddox; his brother Edward Earl Ryals; his son Eddie Lynn Ryals; his grandson Eddie James Hardison; and his grandparents, Earlie Yarbrough and Esther Lett Yarbrough.
He is survived by: his mother Helen Yarbrough Maddox of Sanford, NC; his daughter Jessica Ryals Hardison of Sanford, NC; and his close friends, Gary Haynes, Keith Scaggs and Ronnie Ballenger.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Poplar Springs Methodist Church Cemetery Fund.
