With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Willa Dowd of Sanford, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 19, 2024 at the age of 80. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, James Hobson and Annie Lou Preston Hobson; her husband James Fredrick Dowd; and her sisters, Rosie Covington (Odel) of Hamlet and Minnie Williams of High-Point.

She is survived by : her children, Mike Dowd (Laura) of Georgia, James Dowd (Susan Kesler) of Sanford, Wendy Dowd Johnson (William) of Sanford and Lee Dowd (Melinda) of Sanford; and her granddaughters, Amanda Lea Dowd and Sara Dowd.

A graveside service was held on Wednesday, April 24th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Lee Memory Gardens (2600 Hawkins Ave, Sanford, NC 27330).
