He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Mendola and Joan Broadbeck Mendola; and his siblings, Kristi Mendola and Scott Mendola. He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Mendola; his daughters, Jeanette Bond of Maryland, Brianne Handy (Jeremy Handy) of Elkin, NC and Falon Mendola of Cameron, NC; his grandchildren, Riley Bond, Jordan Moreno, Alex Moreno, Anthony Bond, Mackenzie Nowell, Kaden Handy, Kaleigh Handy, Emily Nowell and Aiden Moreno; and his siblings, Susan Delany of Vass, Bryant Mendola (Patti) of Groveland and Meredith Mendola of Cameron.
