She was predeceased by: her parents, Clifton Dudley Kirkland and Ola Ilene Gay Kirkland; her husbands, Alton Odell Beals and Charles Vaughan; and her brothers, Clifton Kirkland and Donald Kirkland.
She is survived by: her children, Lisa Hill (Don) of Norfolk, Virginia, Tim Beals (Sheri) of Roanoke Rapids and Charles T. Vaughan (Valerie) of Sioux City, Iowa; her grandchildren, Chrystal Hill, Katelyn Hill and Cody Beals; her sister Linda Lamm (Gerald) of Wilson; and her cousin Hilda Whelan (Cathy Slate).
