He is survived by : his wife Velma Garris; his children, Vickie of Roanoke Rapids, NC and Corey (Lakasha) of Garysburg, NC; his grandchildren, Essence Garris, Melodee Cherry, Kaeden Cherry, Kaiyah Cherry, Kyleigh Hardy, Khloe Hardy and Kirah Hardy; his great grandchildren, Eden and Kaeden; his brother Randolph Garris of Fayetteville, NC; his siblings-in-law, Patricia Harris, Brenda Harris, Carolina Garner, Jacqueline Gray, John Harris, Henry Harris, Willie Harris and Gregory Harris (Van); his sons, Gregory Hicks (Wanda) of Emporia, VA and Henry Hicks (Stephanie) of Seaboard, NC; and his close friends, Sybil Scott (Sam), Leah Boone (Duke) and Chester Barnes (Agnes). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, family and friends.
