He is survived by: his children, Demeitus Sykes, Lackisha Sykes Freeman (William) and Brandon Brown; his grandchildren, Aiden, Madison Freeman, Jessika Babb and Jasiyah Brown; and his siblings, Beatrice Jordan, Evelyn Kee, Mable Turner, Thelma Wardrick, Belinda Bradley, George Buffaloe, James Sykes and Sam Sykes.
Viewing was held on Friday, July 11th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Faison's Funeral Care (301 Park St, Seaboard, NC 27876). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church (802 Mt Zion Church Rd, Margarettsville, NC 27853). A burial was held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 at the Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery (802 Mt Zion Church Rd, Margarettsville, NC 27853).
