He was predeceased by: his father Wallace Jackson Smith; and his sister Sandra Smith Lowe. He is survived by: his wife Wanda Smith; his daughters, Megan Smith Speedling of Seagrove and Natalie Smith (Zachary Sprouse) of Seagrove; his mother Edna Albright Smith of Seagrove; his siblings, Janice Cranford (Robert) of New Bern and Wallace "Wally" Jackson Smith, Jr. of Seagrove; and his grandson Gavin Jackie Speedling (Benji).
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 20th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Ridge Funeral Home & Cremation Service (908 Albemarle Rd, Asheboro, NC 27203). A funeral service was held on Sunday, September 21st 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Victory Baptist Church (7418 US-220 ALT, Asheboro, NC 27205).
