He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Frederick Simpson and Dorothy Lee Moore Allen; and his grandparents, Quester and Nellie Moore. He is survived by: his wife April Simpson; his daughters, Leigh Ann Simpson of Raleigh and Caitlin Simpson Harrington (Jake) of Greenville; his stepchildren, Cassie Danielle Crawford of Middlesex and Charles William "Billy" Crawford of Kenly; and his grandson Johnathan Philip Harrington.

I am sorry to hear of his extended illness and passing. His Half sister, Jackie DeGrande, has been trying to locate him for years, and she sends her sympathy as well. Jackie and I grew up with Charlie, and we used to take care of him when he was a baby because we were a little older. We loved him and miss him. Olivia Jae (Dixon) Gober”
