Dorothy Stewart Godwin Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Dorothy Stewart Godwin of Selma, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 30, 2025 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Franklin Stewart and Katie Stewart; her husband William Godwin Jr.; her son Donnie Ray Godwin; and her siblings, Johnny Stewart (Clara), Frank "Sonny" Stewart (Mabel), Al "Teeny" Stewart (Shirley), Bernice Wadsworth (Harvey) and Jean Moore (Willie).
She is survived by: her sister Joyce Strickland (Bill); her son Roy Godwin (Phyllis); her grandchildren, Laura Grady (Lawrence) and William Lynn Godwin (Diane); and her great grandchildren, Stephanie Peacock, Noah Grady, Jordan Barnes, Baleigh Godwin and William Vanderbilt Godwin. She is also survived by four great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that memorial contributions be sent to a charity or church of one's choice.
