With sadness, we share the passing of Emmalene Sasser Joyner (Selma, North Carolina). Emmalene, born on July 31, 1938, passed away on November 2, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Clyde B. Sasser and Hettie E. Sasser; her husband Melvin Brooks Joyner; and her siblings, Buren Sasser and Patricia Sasser Radford (Pat).
She is survived by: her son Kelvin "Brooks" Joyner; her daughter-in-law Maryann Joyner; her daughter Melinda Smith; her grandchildren, Jessica Joyner, Ashley DuBray and Jessica Kramer; her great grandchild Zechariah Joyner; and her sister JoAnn Woodard.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 5th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Parrish Funeral Home (1351 S Pollock St, Selma, NC 27576). A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 6th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Rains Crossroads Cemetery (5430 Princeton Kenly Rd, Kenly, NC 27542).
