He was predeceased by: his father Burtchel A. Harper; his son Tommy Harper; and his sisters, Geraldine Harper, Alene Holland and Mary Evans.
He is survived by: his wife Lupe Harper; his sons, Bruce Harper (Tonya) of Benson, Scott Harper (Cynthia) of Clayton, Timmy Harper (Katie) of Angier, Michael Harper (Kimberly) of Benson, Greg Harper (Rose) of Four Oaks and Fernando Rosas (Berenice) of Smithfield; his daughter-in-law Carol Harper of Selma; and his siblings, Frankie Barbour of Clayton, Martha Gilmore of Smithfield and Johnny Harper of Archer Lodge. He is also survived by 27 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren.
