He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Willie Sligh and Cora Sligh; his wife Mary Sligh; his daughters, Sandra Sanders and Michelle Sanders; and his sisters, Mary Newsome and Maxine Lewis. He was also cherished by other relatives and friends.
A funeral service was held on Thursday, July 10th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Howell's Chapel Church of Christ (214 E Preston St, Selma, NC 27576).
The family would request in lieu of flowers monetary contributions be submitted to the funeral home directly Walter Sanders Funeral & Cremations 302 S. Bright Leaf Blvd., Smithfield, NC 27577 for Murtnell Sligh.
