He was predeceased by : his parents, Leslie E. Sommers and Ethel King Sommers; his son Rodger Sommers; and his sisters, Irma Pestar, Janet Judd and Inez Molloy.

He is survived by : his spouse Beverley Sommers; his children, Stephen Sommers, Jennifer Sommers, Nicole Lynne Sommers and Mary Beth Gomez; his grandchildren, Mary Burdick, Lily Gomez, Jake Gomez and Zach Gomez; and his brother Michael Sommers (Patricia). He is also survived by 2 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Friday, May 3rd 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Boles Funeral Home Chapel (221 MacDougall Dr, Seven Lakes, NC 27376).

In lieu of flowers, donations in Les' memory may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or to a charity of one's choice.
