We bid farewell to Jean Rouse (Seven Springs, North Carolina), born in Lenoir, North Carolina, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on August 27, 2025 at the age of 90. Jean touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Davis DeLeon Whitfield and Sybil Haynes Whitfield; her husband James Albert Rouse, Jr.; her brothers, Robert Hanes Whitfield and Davis DeLeon "Bit" Whitfield; her daughter-in-law Sandee Hall Rouse; and her sister-in-law Margaret Turner Whitfield.
She is survived by: her children, James Albert "Jay" Rouse III and Wendy Rouse Singleton (Anthony Singleton); her granddaughters, Jessica Abigail "Abbey" Rouse, Sommer Leigh Holmes and Brooke Whitfield Holmes; her sister-in-law Mary Grady Whitfield; and her caregiver Jean. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
