He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis Atencio and Mary Margaret Atencio Bura. He is survived by: his wife Dorothea Atencio of Carolina Shores; his daughter Jennifer Atencio-Spears (Brad) of Boonville, Missouri; his granddaughters, Audrey Hontz (Philip) and Genevieve Spears; and his pet Argos.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10306 in support of his love of the military and all things patriotic.
