We are sad to announce that, on March 24, 2026, at the age of 84, Virginia Sands (Shallotte, North Carolina) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Willie Pinkney Tilley and Fannie Mabe Tilley; her daughters, Vickie Sands, Wanda Mabe and Sherri Sams; her siblings, Russell Tilley and Glenda Tilley Shaw; and her grandchild Shianne Mickey.
She is survived by: her son Ricky Sands (Penny); her grandchildren, Brandi Epperson (Richard), Dustin Sands (Crystal), Brittany Wilson, Matthew Sams, Heather Gentry (Tara), Morgan Sands and Michael Blakley (Laura); her siblings, Donna Tilley, Ronnie Tilley (Linda) and Tommy Tilley; her friend Libby Langley; and her pet Karley. She is also survived by many great-grandchildren.
