She was predeceased by: her husband Franklin Harris, Sr.; her parents, Noe McHone and Annie Ava Buckner McHone Sr.; and her siblings, C. J. McHone and Iris Sue McHone.

She is survived by: her children, Frances Lay, Angie Martin, Franklin Harris, Jr. (Anita) and Frankie Martin; her grandchildren, John Martin, Angel Cutshaw, Justin Harris, Kristen Finley, Chelsea Harris, Nathan Harris, Megan Depew, Bill Lay and Breana Lay; and her siblings, R. D. McHone, Marie Reed, Noe Ott McHone, Jr., Mary Hunnicutt and Sandra Seals. She is also survived by many great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Greene Funeral Service - West Chapel (216 Archie Whitesides Rd, Gastonia, NC 28052). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 at the Cherryville City Memorial Cemetery East.
