It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Docia Mauney of Shelby, North Carolina, born in Bryson City, North Carolina, who passed away on March 4, 2024, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Taylor Isaac Sherrill and Eliza Maude McClain; and her husband Richard Mauney, Sr.. She is survived by : her children, Rick Mauney, Lynn Huffstetler and Beverly Mauney; her sister Rita Lee Sherrill; and her grandchildren, Shaun, Thad, Jody and Whitney.
