With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Doris W. Pierce of Shelby, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 7, 2025 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Weidman and Olive Weidman; her husband William R. Pierce; her daughter Susan Goins; her grandson Philip Grey Hammel; and her sisters, Carol Bridgewater and Lois Weidman.
She is survived by: her children, Sharon Hammel (John) and William Pierce Jr. (Tanya); her siblings, Shirley Wittje and Larry Weidman (Cathy); and her grandchildren, Sara Karner (Kevin), Candace Wortman (Zachary), Amy Vanderveer, Will Pierce, Olivia Pierce, Jessica Leone (Nick) and Benjamin Greene (Amanda). She is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
