She was predeceased by: her parents, Howard Vincent Carpenter and Rachel Elizabeth Thomas Carpenter; her daughter Sherri Renee Lingerfelt; and her siblings, Vincent Carpenter, Bill Carpenter, Johnny Carpenter and Linda Carpenter Triplett.
She is survived by: her daughters, Kyla Lingerfelt Rice (David) of Myrtle Beach, S. C. and Kelly Lingerfelt Gregory (Wayne) of Shelby, N. C; her grandchildren, Justin Gregory (Heather) of Shelby, N. C, Chase Gregory of Orlando, River Mann and Tanner Mann of Myrtle; her stepgrandchildren, Michael (Cassandra) of Summerville, S. C., Josh Mann of Lenoir, N. C. and Dara Mann of Morganton, N. C; her great grandchildren, Tobias Gregory, Ayden Gregory, Addyson Gregory, MJ Jones, Jenny Jones, Hudson Gregory and Romi Monforte Mann; and her former husband Robert Garren Lingerfelt of Blacksburg, SC..
