It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of James McMurry of Shelby, North Carolina, born in Cleveland, North Carolina, who passed away on January 3, 2021, at the age of 55, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, James Edwin and Lois Horne McMurry of Shelby; his son BJ Shepherd; his grandparents, Sid and Lee McMurry; his aunts, Dorothy Cause, Robbie Canipe, Nancy Patterson and Vivian; and his uncle Gary.

He is survived by: his children, Ashley, James McMurry (Dillon) and Zack Rabb; his grandsons, Aiden and Colson McWhirter; and his sisters, Dawn Moore and Dana Bradshaw. He is also survived by three nieces; three nephews; and many other countless friends.
