We bid farewell to Jerry Nelson Floyd (Shelby, North Carolina), whose journey of life gracefully concluded on October 2, 2025 at the age of 87. Jerry touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Macie Warlick Floyd and Weldon Arvel Floyd; his brother William Dacus Floyd; and his sister-in-law Joyce Thackerson Floyd. He is survived by: his wife Marietta Gettys Floyd; his sons, Jerry Michael Floyd (Michal Edwards Floyd) and Mark David Floyd (Susan Hamrick Floyd); and his grandchildren, Thomas Mark Floyd (Leah), Katie Suzanne Floyd Williams (Jake), Amy Elizabeth Floyd Savage (Jake), Daniel Yates Floyd and Anna Noel Floyd. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family has ask that memorials be made to Elizabeth Baptist Church, 301 N. Post Rd. Shelby, NC 28150.

“Really Sorry to hear. I am a realestate investor in the shelby area and had purchased a property once from Jerry and Marietta. He was a tough negotiator, outdoors man (I remember at closing he came from having been "bailing hay" or something with Hay at the farm) and I once met him and Marietta at their home on lake and recall leaving with impression they were very godly people.
