We are sad to announce that, on August 5, 2025, at the age of 88, John Albert Lookadoo of Shelby, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the sacred silence of farewell, John is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that his light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of his loved ones. And as his memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that John's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
He was predeceased by: his parents, George Lookadoo and Alda McSwain Lookadoo; his wife Barbara Humphries Lookadoo; and his siblings, Emmett Lookadoo, Janice Humphries and Lynn Morrison.
He is survived by: his daughters, Melinda Jones (Don) of Shelby, NC and Ginger Peeler (Don) of Shelby, NC; and his siblings, Bruce Lookadoo (Bonnie) of Shelby, NC and Judy Mauney (Mike) of Lattimore, NC.. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren.
