She was predeceased by: her parents, Max Dale and Margaret Lee Cabiness McSwain of Shelby; and her sisters, Suzanne Hunsucker and Vanessa Willis. She is survived by: her husband Dwight Carpenter; her children, Jody Carpenter (Hollen) of Lawndale and Leah Carpenter Adams of Shelby; and her grandchildren, Hayden Carpenter, Maris Carpenter, Max Adams and Rylee Adams. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
