He was predeceased by: his parents, John Ray Patterson and Mae Baker Patterson; his wife Juanita Patterson; his sisters, Dorothy Allen and Nadine Cooper; and his daughter Brenda Black.
He is survived by: his children, Gary (Debbie) of Myrtle Beach, Steve (Pam) of Ellenboro, Tim (Tina) of Belmont and June Hersek (Rocky) of Shelby. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
