She was predeceased by: her parents, Andrew Jackson Spake and Mattie Sue Sheppard Spake; her husband James Donald Shields; her children, Willa Sue Whitaker Schutz and William Bradford Shields; and her siblings, Everett Spake, Charles Spake, Bobby Spake, Wesley Spake, Ruth Spake and Elizabeth Smith.
She is survived by: her children, Dr. Scott Lamar Shields (Carolyn Jean) of Enid, Oklahoma and Patricia Shields Allen (Danny) of Surfside Beach; her brothers, John Ray Spake and Henry Spake; her sister-in-law Rose Shields; her grandchildren, Timothy Whitaker (Allison), Kelli Sweet (Nathan), Shannon Muhlestein (Tim) and Hunter Allen (Taci); and her great grandchildren, Jessica Whitaker, Reagan Bridges (Colton), James Muhlestein, Kira Muhlestein, Jayson Sweet and Danielle Sweet. She is also survived by many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews.
