He is survived by: his daughters, Tammie Sexton (Tim), Evelyn "Kay" Stamey (Bo), Betty Jo Towery (Mark) and Linda Burnham (Kevin); his grandchildren, Michael Lee (Deana), Christopher Sexton (Leah), Jamie Sexton, Hannah Bridges (Wil), Savannah Finger, Madison Finger and Lucas Burnham (Kimberly); his great grandchildren, James Lee, Thomas Lee, Reagan Bridges, Ella Bridges and Creed Bridges; and his sister Pat Avery.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Clay-Barnette Funeral Home (1401 W Dixon Blvd, Shelby, NC 28152). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
