It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Michael Wellmon (Shelby, North Carolina), born in Cleveland, North Carolina, who passed away on April 17, 2024, at the age of 69, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Clemmie "Chick" Lee Wellmon and Ruby Jane Costner Wellmon; and his siblings, Bobby Wellmon, Bill Wellmon and Diane Helms.

He is survived by : his wife Pamela Cannon Wellmon; and his children, Michael Wellmon, Jr. (Samantha) of Lake Bowen, SC, Kevin Wellmon (Joni) of Fallston, Ginger Nicole Strickland (Wayne) of Savannah, GA, Haley Greene (Wesley) of Shelby and Heather DiBruno (Nick) of Gastonia. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Saturday, April 20th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Double Shoals Baptist Church (318 Old Mill Rd, Shelby, NC 28150). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, April 20th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
