We announce the death of Nancy Leonhardt Tallent of Shelby, North Carolina, who passed away on October 20, 2026, at the age of 80. Nancy will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ted Leonhardt and Dorothy Huss Leonhardt; and her husband Eugene "Smiley" Tallent. She is survived by: her children, Teddi L. Neal (Charles) and Ronald Leonhardt (Michelle); her siblings, Steve Leonhardt (Vivette) and Becky Engle (Ronnie); and her grandchildren, Seth Neal, Ryan Neal, Jessi Neal, Bessie Leonhardt and Chase Leonhardt. She is also survived by 2 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 from 1:45 PM to 2:45 PM at the Bethphage Lutheran Church (3440 NC-182, Lincolnton, NC 28092). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 at the Bethphage Lutheran Church Cemetery (4061 NC-182, Lincolnton, NC 28092).
