He was predeceased by: his father Douglas Eugene Owens; and his nephew Johnathan Auton. He is survived by: his mother Evelyn Laws Barkley; his stepfather John F. Barkley of Shelby; his daughter Katie Garaventa (Joseph) of Marion; his sister Angela Barkley Auton (Wayne) of Crouse, NC; his stepsister Crystal Owens of Rutherford County; and his grandchildren, Kylee and Johnathan Osborne.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 8th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Harrelson Funeral Home & Cremation Services (1251 US Hwy 221a, Forest City, NC 28043). A memorial service was held on Saturday, November 8th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location.
