It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Reba Barrett Strickland of Shelby, North Carolina, who passed away on October 3, 2025, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert Barrett and Odessie Hayes Barrett; her husband Garvis Lee Strickland; and her brother J. B. Barrett. She is survived by: her children, Chris Sanders (Deborah) of Shelby, NC and Teri Strickland of Roanoke, VA; her grandchildren, LaCosta Humphries, Collin Humphries, Cassidi Humphries, Christian Strickland and Crystal Roseberry; her great grandchildren, Gia Fadorick, Tinley Humphries, Nicholas Postell and Dakota Postell; her great great grandchildren, Clovis, Cyrena, Ruby, Alith and Willow; and her pet Gizmo.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 7th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Crestview Baptist Church (1090 Old Boiling Springs Rd, Shelby, NC 28152). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 7th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
