It is with great sadness that we announce the death of William Steve Champion of Shelby, North Carolina, who passed away on January 17, 2026, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Though William may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace, and the light of his enduring love.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Champion and Mary Sue Wease Champion; and his wife Frances Pauline Floyd Champion. He is survived by: his son Scott Champion (Jaime) of Winston Salem; his granddaughter Chloe Anderson (Austin); his great grandchild Mason Anderson; and his sister Tina McNeilly.
