He is survived by: his wife Susan Arndt Beard; his children, Bonnie Jenkins (Daniel) of Hickory, Becky Blalock (Brandon) of Sherrills Ford, Ann Nolen (David) of Denver and Jimmy Hudspeth (Annette) of Hickory; his siblings, Stanley Beard of Statesville, Waitsel Beard (Sherri) of Lenoir, Linda Kay Wingler of Statesville, Rachel Sigmon (Don) of Hilton Head, SC, Beverly Lapin of Statesville and Vickie Black (John) of Hiddenite; and his grandchildren, Ely Jenkins (Brooke), Ella Jenkins, Madison Blalock (Andrew), Bryce Blalock, Duncan Hudspeth (Abi), DJ Nolan, Alicia Parsley (Brett) and Samantha Nolan.
