He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Jones and Enid Jones (Thomas); and his brothers, Dean and Paul Jones. He is survived by: his wife Delores Jones (Thomas) of Sherrills Ford; his children, Donna Jones (Daniel) of Catawba and Ronald Jones of Maiden; his sisters, Janelle Knox and Rosalyn Young of Missouri; and his grandchildren, Bradley Simpson, Steven Simpson and Julia Simpson. He is also survived by many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
