Obed Beatty Obituary

We bid farewell to Obed Beatty of Sherrills Ford, North Carolina, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on November 1, 2025 at the age of 93. Obed touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Cephus Burett Beatty and Hattie Pearl Jarrett Beatty; his wife Betty Marie Cornelius; his siblings-in-law, Peggy Childers, Colleen Hawn, Bill Hawn, Kermit Childers and James Cornelius; and his son-in-law James Beach, Sr. (Madge Beatty).

He is survived by: his daughters, Greetle Beach of Connelly Springs, Jane Shoemaker (Doug) of Sherrills Ford and Elizabeth Bach (Aubrey) of Sherrills Ford; and his grandsons, James Shoemaker, Jr., Jeffrey Shoemaker, James Beach, Jr. (Mandy Smith), Jacob Bach and Caleb Bach.

Visitation was held on Saturday, November 8th 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:45 PM at the Sherrills Ford Presbyterian Church (8491 Sherrills Ford Rd, Sherrills Ford, NC 28673). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, November 8th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
