He was predeceased by: his parents, John Marvin and Bessie Simpson Hardy; his wife Bonnie Simpson Hardy; and his son John Michael Hardy. He is survived by: his daughter-in-law Anne Hardy of Mount Airy; his grandchildren, Megan Hardy of Mount Airy and John B. Hardy (Carson); his great grandchild Sylvia Hardy of High Point; his sister-in-law Sarah Simpson of Mount Airy; and his niece Paula Simpson of Mount Airy.
