She was predeceased by : her parents, James Edgar Johnson and Julia Estep Johnson; her husband Wilbur C. Peele; her daughter Cathy Peele Edmonds of Virginia; and her siblings, Julia Mozelle Johnson, Avanelle Poindexter and Hubert E. Johnson.

She is survived by : her sisters, Agnes J. Carlyle and Audrey Scott; her grandson Aaron Edmonds (Brooke); her great grandchildren, Davis and Katherine Edmonds; and her half-siblings, E. J. Johnson (Karen), Wayne Johnson (Dianne), Dale Johnson and Karon Ball.
