It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Donald Leon Hargett of Sims, North Carolina, who passed away on January 6, 2026, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his daughter Sandra Hargett; his parents, Walter Hargett and Maud Hargett; and his brother Norris Hargett. He is survived by: his wife Jimmie Hargett; his daughters, Karen Pittman (Bobby) and Deborah Hargett; his grandchildren, Jami Mooring (Ken), David Pittman (Sarah) and Jonathan Pittman (Laura); and his sisters, Ann Canupp (Bill) and Janice Hargett. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
