We announce the death of Doug Davis of Sims, North Carolina, who passed away on August 3, 2026, at the age of 89. Doug will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his wife Ann Jacobs Davis; and his parents, John Jacob Davis and Shellie Elvira Narron Davis. He is survived by: his sons, Jimmy Davis (Rose Marie) of Richlands and Steve Davis (Dana) of Wilmington; his grandchildren, Jake Davis (Camila) of Raleigh, Matt Davis of Wilmington, Makenzie Sheehan (Ryan) of Martinsville, VA and John Howard Hill of Wilmington; his great grandchild Eliza Sheehan; his sister Janice Parham of Raleigh; his niece Jana Anderson (Sam); his nephew Douglas Yancey (Pam) of Wendell; and his close friend Ricky Tedder (Denise) of Sims.
