She was predeceased by: her parents, Fernie D. Lawhorn and Lela Norris Lawhorn; her son Ronnie Barbour; and her siblings, James Lawhorn, Magaline Smith, Vera Lee Ennis, John "Rayford" Lawhorn and Donald Lawhorn.

She is survived by: her husband Cecil Barbour of Smithfield; her son Barry Barbour (Rae) of Four Oaks; her sister Helen Strickland of Clinton; and her grandchildren, Kaitlyn Barbour of Raleigh, Brandon and Tyler Barbour of Clayton. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
