He was predeceased by: his parents, Donnie Nixon, Sr. and Marie Nixon; his wife Yvonne Lewis Nixon; and his brother Frank Nixon. He is survived by: his children, Donnie Nixon III, Tim Nixon and Yvette Nixon; his grandchildren, Timaiya McManus, N'namdi Nixon, DaRiel Nixon, Devon Nixon, Adalyn Nixon and Caroline Nixon; his great grandchildren, Ivy McManus and Nick McManus; his brother Keith Nixon; and his sister-in-law Phebia McIver. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Viewing was held on Friday, November 21st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 5:30 PM at the Walter Sanders Funeral & Cremation Services Chapel (302 S Brightleaf Blvd, Smithfield, NC 27577). A graveside service was held on Saturday, November 22nd 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Selma Memorial Gardens (1350 S Pollock St, Selma, NC 27576).
