It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Doris Davis Johnson of Smithfield, North Carolina, who passed away on August 4, 2025, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Donnie Davis and Julia Jones Davis; her husband Joseph "Shorty" Johnson; her son Marcus Vann Johnson; her siblings, Donnie Davis, Jr., Bobby Davis, Billy Davis, Rudolph Davis, John Davis, Louise Canupp, Alice Earp, Julia Ann Larson and Shelby Wright; and her great grandchildren, Madeline Page, Elijah and Ezra Johnson.
She is survived by: her son Kim Johnson (Suzanne); her daughter-in-law Candy Johnson; her brother Joe Davis of Snead's Ferry; her grandchildren, April Page (Kyle), Matthew Johnson (Hannah), Shane Johnson (Brooke) and Bennett Johnson (Amanda); and her great grandchildren, Jacob, Isaac, Caroline, Stella, Asher Page, Emily, Paige, Everette and Ellis Johnson.
Flowers are acceptable, memorials are encouraged and may be sent to Tee's Chapel OFWB Church, 6439 Brogden Rd. Smithfield, NC, or the household closet at First Baptist Church 202 S 4th Street Smithfield, NC, where she volunteered for many years.
