She was predeceased by: her parents, W. Robert Phillips and Sallie Phillips of Smithfield; her husband John W. Kennedy; her sister Shelby Jean Phillips; her nephew Tony Jones; her brother-in-law Hugh Jones; and her stepmother Frances Lancaster Phillips.
She is survived by: her sister Sadie P. Jones of Smithfield; her stepsister Kaye Heroux (George) of Leland; and her nieces and nephews, Debbie Jones Dorman (Warren) of Selma, Jennifer Jones Brown (John) of Raleigh, Randy Jones (Ruthie) of Columbia, SC, Robbie Southerland (April) and Brad Ward (Chris) of Clayton.
