It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Janice Edwards Cates of Smithfield, North Carolina, born in Kansas City, Missouri, who passed away on April 22, 2025, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ruby Markley Underwood and Charles Monroe Edwards. She is survived by: her daughter Heidi Lorraine Hicks; her granddaughter Heidi Richardson Hall; and her sister Diann Edwards Arbuthnot.
A private celebration of life was held on Sunday, April 27th 2025 at 2:00 PM.
