He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Godwin; his son James "Jay" Godwin (Debra) of Four Oaks; his siblings, Bud Godwin, Betty Norris, Joanne Pope, Ruth Strickland and Lois Wilkins; his siblings-in-law, Brinda Pearce and Joe Pearce; his grandchildren, Brittany Hunter (Daniel) and Jordan Pierce; and his great grandchildren, Tylon Hunter and Mason Hunter.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, December 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Knollwood Memorial Park (4362 US-70 BUS, Clayton, NC 27520).
